I'm thirty years old and I live in Brooklyn. After spending the past ten years of my life starting businesses, organizing communitites, partying hard and dating my ass off, I've recenty been asking myself a question: What does it really mean to be a man today? I don't have the answer, but I'm creating an experiment to get the conversation started between men and women. It's called The Modern Man Experiment.
I've put together a framework that focuses on four pillars of modern manhood: purpose, sex, relationships and presence. The framework is based on experiences, tools and content that I've collected over the past ten years. The Modern Man Experiment is a series of open-discusion workshops to explore this framework and dive deep into the four pilars. The first workshop will focus on the pillar of "presence" and meditation.
My four-year meditation practice has given me an awareness that has shifted the way I work, date, make love, and show up as a man. It’s taught me the power of presence — the most magnetizing and important skill in my life. This 2 hour workshop takes place at my loft in Williambsurg and covers discussions on:
How can we collectively improve “social presence”(knowing when to put the phone aside, having control over notifications and emails, really listening to what others say when they speak, understanding when it’s appropriate to give advice or be empathetic) and what importance does it hold in the life of a Modern Man?
